Theory about airdrop pathing

I have a theory that the airdrops are being tested in a way that works with the proposed open world in the future.

You know how you can see lighthouse cabins from shoreline and vice versa and only the exfil prevents you from walking in? I experienced something that would be akin to seeing the plane fly over those cabins, while still on shoreline.

Was playing woods yesterday with a pal when we heard an airdrop coming. From where we were, it looked like the plane route went over just a tiny sliver of the map, and was mostly outside the boundaries of where you can travel on foot.

The plane also didn't drop anything from what I could see; I was able to watch it almost entirely while it was visible, and I'm pretty sure the entire time it was overtop of playable space.

Airdrops are routed as if they're over an open-world map and the pathing might reflect that already?

How do you think they'd be best implemented in the future?

TLDR; I don't think weird plane dropped anything.

…idk I'm just bored waiting in queue.
