After some tough 1.5 years, i really did not play any video games much, lack of time and me getting older and losing interest fast just got to me.
I found some spare time and wanted to get into a game, saw some suggestions and picked Kenshi first. It was okay, but didn't hook me.
I tried Valheim then. It was alright at first, i thought the beginning of the game was very boring and empty. Then i pushed through the first boss, it was still a bit boring, but better. Once i hit black forest it got progressively more interesting.
I was dying over and over again. Frustration led me to quit and come back right again after a few minutes.
I haven't been this hooked since the days of Minecraft alpha. I spent the last 4 days playing around 30 hours or so. It's ridicilous.
The environment, the cozyness, the bosses, the linear progression, the surprise element of not knowing whats there. The 1 hit mosquitos that i died to like 20 times by accidentally discovering plains. The cold and the wolves who had a nice feast from me.
Im just very happy rn. Don't know how long it will last, but definitely worth the money. And i've been avoid most of the spoilers for now, even though it's hard to resist this sub to see all the crazy stuff going on.
I just recently hit iron and the swamp, so not sure how far in the game i am, but man it's so good!
