TL;DR: Tame wolves won’t kill wild wolves, oops. What other odd things should I expect as a newbie, that you learned through hilarious death?
I am a terrible player, it’s okay, I have fun. My friend helped me tame two wolves, which of course grew to a sea of wolves very quickly. Perfect- now I can mine silver in safety.
As the wild wolves appeared on the horizon, I sneered. Come at me, I have seven noble beasts ready to kill and die for me! I equipped my shield and prepared to harvest their fangs and pelts after my wolves tore them to ribbons.
I learned very quickly that my wolves had no interest in fighting their wild relatives. They stood idly by while I delicately tried to balance running for my life and keeping stamina to block. I didn’t have time to round them all up on the mountain, and lost most of them. That’s okay, apparently they’ll be just fine up there.
At least I could open my grave in the Black Forest instead of dying up there too.
Seriously, I love this game. There’s always something new that wouldn’t quite be expected… but makes sense. What did you learn the hard way?
