As I never gave a damn about FPS combat in Elite, I do see some screenshots of planets in Ody that look great, but my understanding is that the quality of the planet tech right now is really inconsistent.

I just came back from a little stint outside the bubble in Horizons hoping to rekindle my interest in the game and in exploring outside the bubble and the whole thing felt kinda stale. I'd love for a bunch of new things to look at while I'm out there, and based on SOME screenshots of Ody it looks like I'd be willing to drop 40 bucks on it, but other screenshots….the game really looks so awful. If I have to sit back a few months and see how the game improves, I may just do that, but I was wondering if any of you who play the game primarily for exploration out the bubble have been enjoying it much and whether you thought it was worth the price.

Is there anything else about the exploration, besides walking around on planets that you thought Ody really enhanced? I'm not even that impressed by the seemingly tacked on flora they put on some of these planets. Like they look really copy pasted and not so pretty either, and all as if they were done by the same artist.

One thing I really wished they had added, something I always hoped for were random ruby red carbon stars to be discovered like Venaticorum. The rest of the carbon stars all just look like K or M stars that a really big. Anyway, I'd appreciate any feedback on just that part of the game as it stands now.
