Valheim is awesome. I was waiting for the Xbox release, and I'm having a blast now (I'm finally able to play co-op with my wife!), but it's hard not to notice that controller support isn't given first-class treatment.
While such support was acceptable for the PC version, now that the game is available on Xbox, I believe it deserves not only decent controller support but also (or mainly) an entirely new UI designed with controllers in mind.
This is a typical issue that PC games ported to consoles suffer from when developers provide controller support by mapping controller keys to existing UI elements.
Don't get me wrong – the game is perfectly playable, and I'm enjoying it. I'm not saying that controller support is terrible. It's okay, but it's far from perfect, and many activities are more tedious than they should be.
