Valheim has helped my mom and I reconnect and I will honestly always be so thankful for that.

My mom is in her late 60’s, she used to play games but since my father passed away a couple of years ago, she has stopped since it reminds her of my father to much and causes her to experience mental anguish as a result.

I finally convinced her to buy a prebuilt gaming PC to keep herself busy, and she’s been delving into valheim at my request and learning how to move and do everything with a keyboard and mouse. It’s been quite the learning curve for her, but she is trying and it’s been a lot of fun to get on voice call with her, and help build a base, start making some progress, and we have killed the first boss together.

We are sailing into the Black Forest tonight to start mining copper and tin, I’m really looking forward to it.

Bonus tale: she didn’t understand how the stamina works in water, she fell off the raft I made to teach her how to sail, and she drowned to death. I have never heard my mother yell “FUCK” so loud in my life. Still cracks me up thinking about it.
