My friends and I have taken a swing at Icarus recently and we're really enjoying it. Which got me thinking about valheim server hosting and the ability to continue the maps progression without your friends needing to be there.
In Icarus, you host a server by claiming a prospect. Your friends are then able to join your prospect. Now the cool part it is, your world data is saved to their servers. So when you leave, the data is saved online and your friends can then host the server and continue progression.
For example; you host the server and build a house, but decide to cut it short and log off. Your friend decides to get in while your away and hosts the server and is able to see the progression you've made while you are away. They log off and the progression they've made is saved for you or the next friend to host the server.
I'm not suggesting to completely replace server hosting. It has its own benefits. But to at least give us the option.
Not being able to craft them sucks. Especially when everyone I talk to about it…
