Video/Tutorial for sound queues

I have no reliable game knowledge for sound queues and volume like judging how far away someone is by the sound of their footsteps, or if they are above/below, and especially how much sound I am making. It seems like if I swivel or walk at half speed I make a really loud sound, but I don’t know how loud it sounds to players nearby, outside, or in a different room. Do different in-game headsets give different sound profiles? How far away can I hear someone ads or take a step?

Most tutorial videos about sound just talk about the “best” sound settings using an equalizer. I think my sound is pretty optimized for shooters and I have a nice headset so I’m not worried about that.

I’m looking for something that breaks down sound mechanics more than settings. Any ideas?
