Similarly to how comfort works, it would be cool to see your village "come alive" with non-player characters that are not interacted with, either by the player or by monsters, that scale in numbers based on how many builds and crafting pieces exist in your village.
If anyone has ever played WOW…in arathi basin (a pvp battleground), when your faction captures a base (an objective node), a bunch of "characters" spawn in that area once your faction controls it. These "characters" wander around that base basically RPing things related to that base. For example, npcs do blacksmithing tasks at the blacksmith, mine at the mine, do wood working things at the lumber mill, farm at the farm…etc. These aren't targetable characters, they don't even have names, there is no way to interact with them. They don't interact with the player in any way. They're essentially "ghosts" put there to add to the ambiance of the environment. It would be really cool to have a village with a mead hall filled with non-combatants villagers that laugh and drink and sing and dance to viking music. And someone could be leatherworking or blacksmithing near your crafting tables, and someone could tend to the farm near your windmill, etc. It would make the world feel more alive.
As for lore, you could say it was your viking's earthly memories, or that they are the ghosts of those who once inhabited valheim. And if you don't want it? Toggleable option in video settings.
What do you think? Just daydreaming here.
Not being able to craft them sucks. Especially when everyone I talk to about it…
