What if the StarGoid destroys Earth?

While I don't think this a plausible outcome (not even sure how F-Dev would pull it off), as a Stellaris player only one thing comes to mind when I see a ship of that size. Imagine a desperate pitched battle in the Sol system, fighting off the Goid vanguard, trying to halt the advance of what is to come. The Feds drop the permit lock in a desperate attempt to bolster their numbers, but humanity hasn't been able to rebuild what was lost in the HIP 22460 disaster. Maybe new AX weaponry provides a tempory boost. Maybe the Federation, Empire, and Alliance put aside their differences to help defend the birthplace of humanity. Maybe we get moments of hope, but that hope that is quickly snuffed out by the massive sub-space signature entering the Sol system…

Again, this is very much a "what-if" or "could you imagine" and not a prediction. What are your thoughts on this scenario, or the consequences of such a cataclysmic event?

As an aside, if the Goids do specifically target Sol it would imply they have a deeper understanding of our civilization and culture than previously thought. Or that they've been watching us for a long time.
