Engineering. Lets talk about it. About this "grind".
I'm extremely new to this community, like 2 weeks new, yet I've already seen HUNDREDS of cmdrs outright refusing to engineer because "its too much of a grind", and im over here with 6 ships including a T9 and an Anaconda all nearly fully engineered, wondering if all these naysayers are coming over from Super Mario 3 or something?
WHAT UNIVERSE DO YOU LIVE IN WHERE THIS GAME IS AN UNACCEPTABLE GRIND!?
The concept of using gathered stuff to improve your abilities/equipment is one of the oldest gaming concepts. How are these gamers not mentally equipped for this? I'm genuinely desperate to understand. The only mats that even approached a "grind" for me were manufactured stuff, still set myself up enough to engineer 5 ships to the tits in a couple hours.
I need an explanation. What is going on? I've never seen any gamers respond to a perceived challenge this way and I've played far, far, FAR more punishing games.
