I'm coming back after a 2-year break and looking for a new home system. About 5 years ago I was inspired to buy the game by the Fuel Rats as I love to help people, though I could join up because of a low end PC and no ability to vc and bad schedule. Now I'm considering to join them.
In the meantime, I'm trying to get some credits for new ships and I want my new CMDR to feel meaning in their missions. I need a faction I can support, do missions for a spread their influence in the neighbouring systems (and see the results).
A player faction would be great because it feels more real and not some LHS 11274 Communist Technocratic Mischief. I tried looking on INARA if there are any active factions/squadrons that are:
Independent
Aren't PVP focused (PVE is good)
Aren't Thargoids related
but I don't really know any popular ones.
