There’s a lot of ways to build a ship right, but even more ways to do it wrong. Weird or outright dumb Engineering mods, modules with oddball ratings, optional internals or utilities that are a waste of slots, strange weapon loadouts… plenty of little things that can potentially make a ship worse.
Are there any quirks to YOUR ship builds that you add purposefully, fully aware that they’re not so ideal?
Or if you’re an immaculate and perfect shipbuilder without flaws (/s), what’s the most amusing ship-building sin that you see others commit?
One of MY ship-building vices is Life Support. I have a bad habit of engineering it Reinforced or Shielded for no real good reason, or even running it A-rated despite having effectively unlimited LS synths on hand.
Another one is that a few of my combat ships, mostly the ganking builds, have a Fuel Scoop AND an FSD Booster clogging up their optional slots… purely because I’m lazy and impatient. Who needs those extra two slots on a Mamba anyway? Y’know, that ship known for having lots of optional slots?
Not being able to craft them sucks. Especially when everyone I talk to about it…
