I'm newish with about 20 hrs in the game, and I've gotten to the point where I have several backpacks for containers in my stash, with a rotation of guns I use on my PMC gotten from my Scav runs or that I bought. I've upgraded a few things in my hideout and have about 200,000 Rubles right now. Just to give you an idea of my current situation.

I've gotten to the point where I can't really decide when I should go PMC or when I should go Scav. As I see it, there are various benefits and cons to going either.

Scav Pros:

1. Don't have to invest your own loot, so lower risk.
2. If you have meh loot (especially guns) in your stash, you can get free shit just from the spawning gear on Scav. Gotten a few nice backpacks from Scav.
3. Good way to start on a new map that you are trying to learn imo, but again, this goes back to you aren't risking your own gear so it's lower risk.

Scav Cons:

1. You don't get to pick your gear at all and may spawn with nothing but a pistol, or with gear you don't like (like shotguns for me).
2. It's lower risk but also seems lower reward, since you don't get the headstart of better gear.
3. There are more friendlies, but that gets me in trouble with rep if I kill a Scav thinking they were an enemy, and it makes me hesitate more when I do see someone, giving away vital time to them when they are an enemy.

PMC Pros:

1. Better choice of gear. Especially good if you really need to get something specific and survive.
2. Almost necessary to get certain things, such as if you have a key card on your PMC.
3. Everyone is an enemy, but that makes it easier to know when to shoot and when not to.

PMC Cons:

1. You risk your armor, guns, backpack, rigs, etc whenever you PMC. (Very big for me atm, as I don't have a great survival rate yet at all).
2. You have to do a balancing act between bringing the right gear to hopefully survive with not bringing more than you are willing to use. This is very hard for me right now.
3. You have more enemies that you can run into, making it harder to survive sometimes.

Are there any other big ones I'm missing. Right now I'm just doing Scav every 1-2 PMC runs (basically until I can do Scav again, unless my inventory is too full for a Scav run).
