Looking at this table on Tom's Hardware, it's not as simple as choosing the highest number or the latest card.

Can you all please give your opinion on where to put my money? I don't mind whether it's AMD/NVidia, I just want the best "bang for my buck" when playing Ody and Horizons. I want to play in 1080p Ultra for now and my monitor is 60Hz – but I will want to improve the resolution and frame rate later without changing card. I also don't have anything like an unlimited pot of money so we're not looking at "The Latest and Greatest" card… I want one which will suit my needs and be playable at up to 4k and possibly VR (although I'm willing to sacrifice image quality for frames).
Can you tell me what you think?
