As always things have two sides, positive and negative, and a good solution is the balance between the two.
Twitch Drops or not you anyways will be murdered by a guy with meta M4 in T5 armor 10 hours after the wipe. Maybe 6 hours. Many times, by many different dudes, by solos, duos, trios, quatros – you name it. That is the nature of "wipe-based-game-loop". Streamers and other sweaty boys will put an insane count of hours into the game first couple of weeks. That early game rarely lasts long. Regardless of Twitch Drops or not for 99.7% of the player base it will be all the same.
Now to another side of the Twitch Drops – it is an insanely good marketing tool. EFT will go to the top of the charts, and lots, I mean LOTS, of new people will buy the game. Sometimes obvious needs to be said — the more people buy the game the better game will be in the future. People spend $$$ on a purchase, and those $$$ go to development budget, including new stuff in game and into the infrastructure (e.g. servers, network, gateways, etc).
Twitch Drops together with the wipe is net positive for the whole EFT community.
