So I don't play Apex much anymore but I came by to see which character was coming out and have picked up on the fishy nature of whatever content drop is going on at the turn of the season.

Maybe it's because I mainly play OW but I feel like they're laying it on too thick with the Overwatch stuff and it thus can't be what it seems.

The new character is literally Doomfist abilities, plus a grapple. Apex Predator is renamed "Masters" and now there's a Top 500 rank.

The new weapon is a charge beam sniper rifle, or the Widowmaker gun.

Basically it's almost as if they're taking the most widely despised things from Overwatch, pretending that they're going to add them to Apex, and then pulling the rug out from under us.

Instead of Forge we'll get Rev, instead of more snipers we'll get the Volt (a sick balance between R99 and R301 from TF2), like….maybe it's just me.

I skimmed the dev stream video and the look on the face of whoever (Jay?) when the dude says "so we're naming Apex Predator 'Masters" and then creating a Top 500 rank" is just….I dunno.

If I end up being right though, you heard it here first. It's more than just Forge, it's all a big swerve. Rev and the Volt, no Forge and sniper.
