“Ooh, did that hurt? Well let me make it more.”
Legend: Stalwart – The Efficient Attacker
His kit revolves around dealing the most damage possible in the shortest amount of time possible. While he may seem a little underpowered, I’d like to hear what you suggest to “buff” stalwart a bit!
Dima “Stalwart” Yahontov was a comrade alongside Anita “Bangalore” Williams in their early days of Military Academy. Their competitive nature caused them to make friends quickly. Stalwart prized himself on being the second best in the peacekeeper disassembly competition, but his skills with the A-Wall particle shield were unmatched. After tinkering his own shield, Stalwart fell in love with the engineering behind it. Stalwart knew the Williams family, though he would commonly feud with Jackson, Bangalore’s brother. Stalwart had been on duty, repairing the same airlock that caused Jackson’s death. He blames himself for the event, and decided to join the Apex Games to make up for it, hoping to reconcile with Anita.
In-game Stalwart and Bangalore share lines, similar to Caustic and Wattson, or Mirage and Crypto.
Bangalore and Stalwart try to uncover the truth of Jackson’s death. Stalwart contacts Crypto, who can find almost anything with his hacking skills. Stalwart also seems to tolerate Loba, with Bangalore claiming their conversations to be “flirting.”
Now the part you’ve been waiting for, abilities.
Tactical – Particle Shield:
Stalwart deploys a particle shield directly in front of him that increases outgoing damage by 25%. Unlike the frontier-war counterpart, damage can pass through the shield from enemy gunfire. The advantage for Stalwart is obviously that he can shoot through different parts of the shield while up close. The tactical can be collapsed like Loba’s ultimate.
Also, this ability would allow for Respawn to fix an ongoing issue with knockdown shields where you can be shot through them. The particle shield has the same mechanic, and longer guns shooting through objects would finally be fixed.
Ultimate – Cool under pressure:
Stalwart’s reload speed is increased by 30%, and damage from abilities and grenades is negated. When reloading with ammo still in the clip- sorry civvies, I mean the magazine, the remaining bullets are lost.
Passive – Making the most:
There is a chance when reloading, healing, or throwing a grenade that the used ammo or items are replenished. When replenishing ammo, you would receive 50% of your mag size, being rounded up if needed. (I.E: 30 = 15, 35 = 18.)
Stalwart would have a similar look to an A-Wall pilot, with the particle shield being deployed from the emitter that can be found on the pilots shoulder.

Hopefully Stalwart could help bring back the run-and-gun gameplay of seasons zero and one!
