So if you have followed the text story in the game's quest tab. It described a secret meeting between 11 of the legends.

If you take Revenant out because 1) they're conspiring against him, so won't have him there, and 2) in the text caption for the first battle pass loading screen – it sounds like Bang retelling the moments just after the Character trailer for Loba, and saying she blew Revenant to pieces.

That leaves 12 legends, so we need to lose one. At least one. Characters that speak in the story (with a proper face and direct speech, not as the narrator) we have – Loba, Pathfinder, Caustic, Bangalore, Mirage, Wraith, Crypto, Wattson. Loba also speaks to Lifeline so we can assume that she is there too, but just doesn't talk. That makes 9, the rest that didn't speak or be spoken to directly are Bloodhound, Gibraltar and Octane. I'm not sure what this means yet, and we may have to wait for the next piece of lore…

But the really interesting bit AND IF YOU'RE JUST SKIMREADING YOU SHOULD GO FROM HERE is that the narrator takes on the personas and catchphrases of other people – "Independent variable" (Caustic), "chica" (Octane), "Felagi fighter" (Bloodhound), "High Five Bruddah" (Gibraltar). Maybe the narrator is a new, evil character. Either a different Hammond robotics robot, one for espionage and infiltration rather than assassination with Revenant, or maybe they have a different origin. But I think A. Smartypants is some kind of shapeshifter, and if they become the next legend, perhaps their Ultimate ability is being able to choose and use any of the other legends' Tactical abilities, e.g. depending on the situation choosing between a pathfinder grapple, caustic gas, or Gibby dome?

Tl;Dr wild speculation about the next legend based on the first text prologue in the season quest
