Every single time something like this is posted it gets hard downvoted but I won't give up!
If you get top 3 camping (extremely easy) in Gold, you will net 5 points (just did it like 6 times in a row in plat to make sure I knew what I was talking about. Its very easy)
. You need 200 points to go from G4 to P4, which means getting top 3 40 times you will be platinum, which according to apex.tracker.gg, is allegedly the top 2% of the playerbase (which seems accurate considering when Im playing mid plat there are very often Predators in the game)
So this doesn't really seem that harmful until you think about what has to be done to make this work.
Firstly, you have to completely abandon your team and go sit in a little corner somewhere. Now your team is 2v3 in any given situation. On the bright side, if they die they can watch you afk for 15 minutes and get their free points, on the contrary though some players just don't care about RP and want to play the game.
Now what about when a player camps all the way into platinum, but isn't a platinum level player? You're once again forcing your team to play any given situation 2v3 because odds are all you'll do is essentially steal loot from your teammates. AND even better, you can't demote from Platinum. So for tens or hundreds of games until you actually improve you will be fucking over 2 other players every. single. game.
This is only made worse if a player commits all the time to camp to diamond.
Now please tell me why camping is skillful/a viable strategy? Its not difficult. All it does is completely fake your skill level and hinder hundreds of players that you encounter.
