I've always found the sound of some guns in WoT to be pretty lackluster. In particular at low tier, some lowish-caliber guns (like on the T-50 and Marder III) sound more like a catapult or a sling than an actual cannon.
I've recently tried out a couple of sound mods from wgmods.net and I must say that the immersion that different gun sounds give (especially when firing) really gives the game a more immersive and energizing feeling. Then of course the mods go a bit off track by adding some excessive sound effects on reloads (dinging of shells, crewmen grunting, …) and on very large caliber guns (150mm are pretty much not hearable because of the echo), but I find the basic idea very interesting.
What do you think? Is it just me, or should WG improve a bit some of the sounds in the game, especially considering the wonderful feeling that firing the recently added double barrel tanks give?
