This post is for those who were having trouble wondering how to optimize their shard spending. With help from one of my friends, we came up with a system that tells us which of the 4 options would be best to choose from. The 4 options are random x random, collection x random, random x decoration type, and collection x decoration type.
The basic calculation is (1-(current of a type/total of a type))/cost.
Using my numbers I got:
(1-(75/280))/900 = .000813 (I have a total of 75 out of 280 in my collection)
(1-(13/70))/1150 = .000708 (my lowest ratio out of the 4 books that I have)
(1-(5/29))/1150 = .000719 (pendant, pyrotechnics, Christmas tree, tree skirt, tree topper, kitchen, and installation all have 29 total ornaments, and in total my lowest in those categories has 5
(1-(0/7))/1150 = .000714 (I have 0 ornaments in my new years book, since there are 7 in total that's 0(current) / 7 (total kitchen ornaments))
Using this equation format you can replace these numbers with your numbers in the game. After you get them all you have to do is get the largest number out of the 4 and that will be your most optimized use of shards.
For those who want to do the same thing, row 1 is =A5/A2 , Row 5 is =1-(A3/A4) , Row 7 is =max(A1:D1) , and Row 8 is =hlookup(A7,A1:D6,6,0)
If anyone found a better method to optimize which option to choose please inform me so that I may better optimize my shard usage.
