Leave it in the game for every other tank type, that’s fine, but just…get rid of it for arty. And there goes the whole “artillery drowning” problem. We would still be able to spot them and shoot them just like they were sitting in the open, and they could still fire (even though yeah I know that wouldn’t work in real life but this is WoT, we said goodbye to a lot of “real life” like 20 patches ago).
They would get no camo benefit from sitting in a pond or something and shots fired at them would not behave any differently.
However, their traverse and maneuverability would be greatly hindered, meaning it would take longer to traverse the tank to shoot at targets making it more of a detriment to sit in a pond or something than just sitting in a bush. But at least now they don’t have the option to just die when they want. With the removal of team damage a few patches ago, they can’t even park in front of a wall and splash themselves to death anymore.
Other tank classes would still drown, and on maps with big oceans (like mines or fiords), just stick an invisible wall a little ways out there so they can’t just drive off to the horizon.
So, thoughts? Would it be too weird to do or get used to? Or is it just a really simple way of solving the problem? I know it’s basically like making artillery submarines, but it would mean the only way for an artillery player to leave the battle would be Alt F4 or just sitting there waiting to die.
Not being able to craft them sucks. Especially when everyone I talk to about it…
