Today after work I noticed I had two emails from Wargaming notfying me about having successfully purchased 500 gold and 30500 gold back to back for a total of 102.24 EUR through Paypal. I haven't played the game in over a year so the first thing I did was change password, add Two Factor Authentication and remove linked payment methods.
I then contacted Wargaming support, explained the situation and asking for a refund to them and this was their response:
Dear RayCOMBO,
Thank you for contacting Wargaming Player Support.
In case that was not you, i will need you to inform you first that i can start chargeback and start refunding your assets, but in same time i will have to lock the account, as the purchased gold were already almost half used on your account. Therefore please let me know, how you want me to proceed with this situation, for now i strongly advise to change email, password and unbound your payment methods.
That being said, I want to thank you for taking your time to help us deal with this situation. As you, we want our gaming community to enjoy playing in a fun environment. ✨ ✨ ✨
If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.
I wish you a wonderful day and much success!
Kind regards,
I'd prefer not to lose my account because it's 10 years old and I have lots of memories, but I'd also prefer not giving any more money to the rotten company that Wargaming has proven to be over the years.
Did anyone else go through this and found a solution that's doesn't involve getting scammed or getting permabanned?
