How can I improve with the Leopard 1?

I love this tank, and I desperately want to be able to play it well, but right now my win rate is sitting at an abysmal 42%, with a wn8 of 862. I have a rammer, vents, and vstab equipped. I used to have a camo net in place of the vstab. I almost exclusively play pubs.

I've been trying to play more cautiously by hiding and sniping, as the Leo's high speed tempted me to be too aggressive before. But I sometimes struggle with finding good sniping positions, especially on maps like Mines, Lakeville, Himmelsdorf, Glacier, and Tundra. What are some good spots on these maps for a Leo to play from, and what kind of terrain/areas should I look for in general?

Is exclusively hiding and sniping too cautious for the leo? At what point do you start to become more aggressive? I've had a lot of success with using the Leo's speed and accuracy to race forward and pick off wounded enemy tanks or come to an outnumbered teammate's rescue, but it seems like this extra aggression only works when both teams are down to around 1/3rd of their tanks, and sometimes the match is already decided by that point.

Any other general tips or wisdom for playing this tank effectively?
