According to this article, we will likely see Italian heavies this year. Now, this is great surprise for many, since players have proposed many new branches, such as Japanese TD's, but pretty much nobody proposed new Italian vehicles, let alone heavies. There is some Italian TD's that could perhaps make a line, (although lacking good top tier candidate) but nobody knows of any Heavy tanks coming from Italy. However, we kinda already have Italian heavies! P26/40, P.43 and P.43 bis were all historically classified as heavy tanks by their designers, even though in game we have them as medium tanks. So it is not uncommon for WG to change vehicle class just to fit WoT. With this in mind…

There is one page on WoT's wiki, that lists "upcoming vehicles", even though it's more of a wishlist, that also contains Self propelled anti-air vehicles, and those don't really have a place in WoT at the moment. This list is also in no way official, it just some content found by players or perhaps mentioned in some obscure interview with some game designer here and there.

However, since there is literally no known heavy tanks for Italy (perhaps outside Fiat 2000, but that's more like tier 1 candidate…) we have to use what we can. In the Italian section of previously mentioned list, there are some interesting things:

• FINABEL 3A5 Lancia
• FINABEL 3A5 Berda
• FINABEL 3A5 Fiat
• FINABEL 3A5 OTO-Melara model A
• FINABEL 3A5 OTO-Melara model B
• FINABEL 3A5 Ansaldo

Those are proposals for some medium tanks. But as we all know, WG can change around classes, armour values, armament, and just about everything about a vehicle, just so it can fit our game. Also, those vehicles are not very detailed… Barely a rough drafts. But Since there is nothing else I know about, this is my guess:

Vehicles above are likely to be used as tiers 8-9-10, coming out of P.43 ter, since that thing already has decent armour and is most "heavy" of Italians in game right now. We obviously won't have 6 vehicles, but 3. Instead, some of them will be used as "alternate turret" for one another. It is also likely they will have more weight, will be slower, and will have bigger guns.

My guess for the line would be:

Tier 8: FINABEL 3A5 Fiat
Tier 9: FINABEL 3A5 Lancia (stock turret) / FINABEL 3A5 Berda (top turret)
Tier 10: FINABEL 3A5 OTO-Melara model A (or model B)
Tier 8 premium: FINABEL 3A5 Ansaldo (Oscilating turret)

This seems to be logical development for these tanks. Only other option for wg would be to invent some new tanks, (you know how 113 looks like chinese enlarged T-54? Now imagine new heavy italian being enlarged version of P.43 ter)
