I have been erroneously equating "sniping" to "redline camping". That is passive sniping, staying in a bush and passively waiting for the enemy to poke. Now I have learned a new concept from bilibili.com: active sniping. That's actively relocating to support the team from various positions, not necessarily a bush. Not necessarily from the redline. Not necessarily from a well-known TD position. Not even necessarily from a risk-free position. I'm learning this skill slowly through practice and watching videos. I'm learning to actively snipe in early game (resisting the urge to go to front line), and if it's a winning game, use my speed advantage to farm the end-battle damage, if it's losing, then fall back until a chance of flanking appears or death. In this way, my DPG increased, and became more stable even in losing games, while my assist damage decreased (as I don't go to the front until end-game). I feel like this is the best way to grind WN8 as it doesn't count assist damage and barely counts win rate. Except for tanks really unfit for sniping like Maus. Is this the correct way to play every tank with some mobility? I've been having stable results using this method (not the overall recent stats as I use this method and the traditional front-line method every other game and found the snipe-then-rush formula has been massively better and more stable than the spotting-oriented formula), but if every tank tries to get into a support role, who is going to the front to spot and fight enemies? Have I really found the good way to play the game, or am I just camping too much?
