I don't have any references to any WG official post/Q&A anymore, but I definitely remember that at one point (maybe 5 years ago?), WG stated that premium tanks should be slightly weaker than same-tier tech tree tanks in general.
But look at this game now in 2022. Skoda T56? Bourrasque? It's almost tier 9 level strength.
Not to mention a bunch of T8.5 premium tanks (progetto, renegade, ebr, 703……) released these years.
I can understand that WG wants to earn money and nobody gonna pay for some shitty tanks. Plus they already put JPE 100's gun in a tier 8 premium (460*2 in 3.5 seconds), there is not much they can do in tier 8.
So the solution is simple, bringing us the Tier 9 Premium tanks. But again, start from the ones that is "slightly weaker than T9 tech tree" like WZ114 and Strv K and gradually increase the strength of T9 premium. Sounds familiar? LOL
I can foresee 1 or 2 years there would be KPZ 50t level, or even Concept 1B level new premium tanks.
