So in short, the AT TDs are probably my biggest surprise in the game. Never noticed them as something special when they were played by others in the battle, and din't really think they could be fun, or bounce much for that matter. Well, after 3 days playing I can say at least the AT8 bounces on average 2 times more than my best armored heavy tanks. In my heavies I never went over 1.0 armor efficiency, with the best being around 0.95, here 2.4 is the norm.
Buut why the topic? So I'm normally one of those coward players that like to sit in the bush, flank and shot people in the back, and even if play a heavy I look for some nice hull-down or sidescraping place to slowly wear down the opponent. I just couldn't play aggressively most of the time.
But now I see how much of an effect just applying pressure in the right moment can have. I've seen whole flanks crumble just because I was driving at them 20km/h and they were bouncing most of the shots. Normally I would just sit in my strong position and exchange blows until they get less and less numerous and then push, here I'm pushing as soon as I see any weakness and it makes lots of difference to the outcome of the game.
Ofc, it's tier 6 where most of the people have max 5 gold ammo in the battle, but I recommend the experience to anyone that is too passive.
Not being able to craft them sucks. Especially when everyone I talk to about it…
