On the subject of "I can't hit wheelies!!"
There is a game/simulator out there called "Steel Beasts Pro PE". It is basically a high-fidelity AFV simulator that includes all the nuances of the various FCS that go with the modelled tanks.
One of the features it has is a "firing range" where your tank is static and you are presented with a variety of targets, one at a time, moving across the range arcs. The trick is to try and hit them as fast as possible with as few rounds as possible.
This mode is invaluable for learning the nuances of the various FCS and the ballistics of different ammo types. Hitting a fast mover at 2km with HEAT takes a steady tracking hand and an accurate lase. And if you are using a tank whose FCS does not include dynamic lead, learning which aim-off mark to use at different ranges and different target speeds makes a huge difference.
Now as it happens, in WoT I use a reticule that includes lead marks and I use them, so I've got a pretty good hit percentage against movers. But it strikes me that maybe a lot of other players don't have the same practice.
So, if WoT had a similar "shooting gallery" game mode, you could practice shooting movers and learn how to properly aim off.
Thoughts?
Not being able to craft them sucks. Especially when everyone I talk to about it…
