WoT experiance by a War Thunder player and some comments

1, Basic background.

I started playing WoT because my friends convinced me to last week. Downloaded last Thursday, finished tutorial on Saturday and so far have 3 tier 6 tanks 19krp towards my first tier7. In other words, no high tier experiance yet.

2, What WoT does better than WT.

From a game perspective, my computer run WoT smoother than WT. The grind so far seems to be quicker (good luck getting the Easy8, KV85 and T34 85 in a few days in WT). I enjoy being able to cause decent damage ramming other tanks. With the option to turn on spotting circles, spotting mechanic is a lot more intuitive than WT.

From a player base perspective, players don't run into each other as much in the beginning of a battle and when they do they are much more inclined to back off. The chat have less swears and toxic remarks based on my experiance so far (that said I still come across "team-blamer", that seems to be universal).

3, What WT does better than WoT.

From a game perspective, I started playing WT when the most modern tank was the Leopard I just like WT but then Leopard A1a1 got added and nowadays WT have full blown modern tanks (and I got a few). WT aiming mechanic is more intuitive to me knowing exactly how off your gun is instead of roughly how inaccurate your gun is in WoT. Replays are also done better IMO.

From a player base perspective, people seem to communicate more detail regarding the battle in chat. Like call out enemy positions report the type of tank they are in etc. There doesn't feel like there was strategies in game play until tier 5 in WoT (10 tier total). In comparison people usually play with some strategy by br 3.3 (br 11.3 total)

4, a little more background.

I have a little more than 3k hours in WT, with little experiance in tournaments, mostly Sim and RB player (the relatively more hardcore compared to Arcade, little game assistance). It's definitely a game relying much more heavily on the mini-map.

I made a few friends IRL this year when my Uni re-opened and all 6 guys already play WoT. They all play during our study breaks and after watching a few games here and there I decided to get the game and try for a bit. We played a few games together last night and it's good fun. A lot more fun then when I was purely trying to grind out new tanks.

5, disclaimer.

I have been around long enough to know there is more or less beef between the 2 games. Please understand I don't mean harm coming here. I found it interesting seeing the differences between the games. I think there can be improvements to both games and player bases if we look constructively and objectively at each other. I have tagged this post as discussion for that reason. What do you think? any tips for when I get to higher tiers?
