A guide to the way of the hibernator

Much like a bear many species of us rats hibernate during the harsh Tarkov winters.

The map:

Woods is the best map for this in my opinion. You can also go with shoreline if your so choose, looting caches and staying out of trouble. But this is made assuming youll be playing on woods.

The setup:

We're going cheap for this one, you wont really be fighting PMC's by design. Id recommend bringing a PACA so you dont die to one bullet. For weapons an SKS with PS rounds should keep the scavs off you very effectively.

The important part of this setup is the scav disguise. Meaning to try and wear exotic hats and face coverings, shit PMC's wouldn't really wear. Just enough to keep player scavs from bothering you.

Finally youll want to put a lil snack in your gamma, being afk for long periods of time makes your PMC very hungry.

now you are ready

The action:

Hibernators like me looking to make easy money wait for 2/3's of the raid to pass. I usually spend this time sniping or sitting in a bush watching YouTube.

Its time for stage two, emerging from your burrow its time to get rich. Regardless of where you spawn youll want to start making your way around the northern edge of woods. Our main looting spot will be the sunken village far north.

Avoid the center of woods towards the sniper rock, thats where alot of scavs are and probably the few remaining PMC's. Hug the edge of the map.

So now youve got about 20 odd minutes to go to town and leave. Because of the time constraints you might have to skip alot of stuff you find to get to sunken village. Noone really goes here and theres a ton of rare item spawns.

Look around on every surface of the buildings in the village, with luck youll leave the raid with a few horses, gold chains, and sugars. BTW sunken village is infested with scavs.

A few spawns in the village you might not be aware of:

The canoe inside the lakeside hut has two item spawns in it.

The church in the pond has three spawns in its tower room.

Theres a cache in one of the houses overgrown on the inside.

So now youve got all your valuables and you wanna get out, just keep heading along the side of the map, or you can take bridge car or head to outskirts or UN.

The end

This strategy is so great in my opinion because you can get money without having to risk death and then go PvP in other raids whenever you choose.

PS. its also sometimes quite nice to chase down air drops, they spawn later when most people are gone and theyre usually uncontested. You can also make very good money doing this route without the hibernation part but you might get rekt. Up to you whether you want PvP or just money.
