I like that we can make different foods as we progress, and the means by which we can make better foods makes sense to me. And the fact that combinations of ingredients result in higher HP, SP, and MP foods, which have longer "satiation times", is good too…
But I've often thought that it's too bad that tables and chairs are essentially only decorative…. Sure, they give you a rested bonus boost… but purely by existing, and it's not cumulative, for very good reasons…. (otherwise people would build 100 rugs, or dozens of chairs under their floorboards and have essentially infinite rested bonus :P)
But what if we could actually make the tables and chairs serve the purpose for which real chairs and tables are used? What if, if we "set out a meal" on placemats at the tables, and ate THERE, the foods' innate qualities were boosted?
instead of eating on the go, which is fine for emergencies, it might encourage people to use the tables as more than just decorations: Sit at a table to eat, and the food gets a (randomized??) +5 to +10% bonus to all stats including length of time…. Sit at a table WITH A FRIEND, and it gets another 1or 2% for each other person sitting at the table with food loaded on the placemats in front of them…
what do you think? too hard to implement? a meaningless buff? or does it sound like something that would encourage group dining/table use?
Not being able to craft them sucks. Especially when everyone I talk to about it…
