Fjord biome idea

I apologize if this has been posted before, but I’ve been kicking this idea back and forth for a while. And in all honesty, I don’t expect this to exist any time soon, or ever. But that being said, here’s my idea. Enjoy!

OVERALL PICTURE:

You know those little river valleys you come across in the Meadows or sometimes Black Forest biomes? Not deep rivers, but just those small creeks that usually are at the bottom of a steep hill? Imagine that, but massive. Just a long and fairly narrow biome, with a river running through and caves holes on the walls. (Will explain)

That’s my idea. Imagine scaling large walls and cliff faces. I think it would add a really well needed element to the world. We have meadows flat with a few hills forests, the Black Forest, dense with scattered structures. The Swamp, with flat land mixed with small assortments of land with huge trees, the mountains, and the flat plains with large rocks. But what if there was a biome, that went below sea level like fjords usually are. Instead of traveling only uphill like we do currently, this would give the new feeling of actually going lower, and having a different perspective as a whole.

Now every biome has its own mineral source unique to its respected region, except for the meadows. Tin and bronze in the Black Forest mined from shorelines or massive rock deposited, swamp dungeons holding iron, mountains sustaining large silver veins buried, and black metal being harvested from fulings. My proposition is having holes in the cliff faces, that don’t teleport you to a cave like in the swamp dungeons, but rather just a large hole you walk through.

CAVES:

My thought is for the mineral you find, pewter, a tin and copper mixed alloy. These would be scattered on the walls and floors of the caves. And these caves would sort of branch out, going up and down, left or right. But obviously these caves need a type of enemy. I propose a troglodyte, or dwarf like creature inhabiting it. Dependent on which one would be seen would select the scale of them. For example troglodytes could be larger and dwarfs being short but fast. Maybe have a unique mechanic to them? Like a troglodyte could move vertically and climb on ceilings or walls, but dwarfs could parry? It seems like a fun aspect to me to make a solid change, and to tackle a new foe differently based off of how they’d move and attack or defend.

FAUNA AND PLANTS:

Like stated previously, a troglodyte or dwarf could be roaming the caves, or if it’s just a dwarf, have them roam the whole region. A couple food sources that would be nice could be elk, a new variant of deer, but sustaining a new hide and meat, making more recipes off the hanging pot on a fire. The other possible one, bears. Having bears would be so cool! They could offer fur to make a rug or cape, bear meat or bear teeth as a drop, for potential arrows or crafting upgrades to a forge or workbench. As for plants, having the grow as a new food source and oats could add a lot of new recipes. For instance; lefse, beer, battered oats, pourage, or oat milk. As for trees, pines and fir trees for sure, but maybe adding a new type of tree with a new type of wood, Spruce trees and Spruce wood, being a darker brown almost reddish color.

STRUCTURES:

Some structures that could possibly be found are the aforementioned caves, ass well as some reunited bridges stretching across the fjord, old lookout towers, mineshafts, and maybe even shipwrecks.

That’s all of my ideas, I know it’s sort of lack luster, but I really do want a fjord biome instead of the small river valleys we currently have. I hope you all can see my idea and I hope you all enjoyed my ramblings on it, please let me know your thoughts!
