I wrote out this comment below to someone in another thread but thought it would be good to share with everyone and hopefully open up a focused conversation about the flea market.
If you have tips, please share them with us!
Tips:
Add items to your wishlist you are interested in following. You can then use it as a short list to keep an eye on.
Get a general idea of the average price of your wishlist items and buy lower than that.
If there aren't many of an item on the market,(like a specific key) you can buy them all up and set a new price for the item.
Example if you see there are only 10-15 'x' keys on the market going for 30-50k. Buy them all and sell them for 90k. Doing this is addictive as it can effect the market for hours-days. All because you made a play.
People will undercut you, if they're really low, buy them up for your next round.
Pro tip: wait for someone else to set the price. Sometimes people get greedy and set it way to high say 150k per key. Then you can undercut them for 90k and it looks like your the good guy.
sometimes people are selling items for less than what the traders will buy them for. So you can make some quick cash there.
Be careful wishlisting items with quality levels, it sucks buying a helmet cheap but its 1/30 quality.
If you want to get your market level up quick you should to sell high value items. Like keycards etc. The higher your level the more items you can sell at once. Even if you dont make a profit, just see it as the price your paying to get your level up.
Watch out for the fees. They can be pretty nutty. There is an equation for it, but yo… Its complex. Just buy 1 item and sell it to see its fee before you go and buy up a bunch of it. You may get stuck with the items in your stash because you dont have enough money left to even list them.
Not being able to craft them sucks. Especially when everyone I talk to about it…
