With random seeds the Trader can be either easy to find, or extremely difficult. He can be either close to the spawn or far across the map. Because of how powerful and important the items are that he sells, this has a huge difference in a playthrough. Being able to see in the crypts and make less trips because of the increased weight capacity is very important in getting iron. It makes the grind a lot less frustrating. In addition the increased weight capacity is important when building because you don't have to restock as often. These items are so important, many guides suggest either looking at your seed or server hopping if you can't find him.
Because of this there should be a way to find the location of the Trader on the map, just like for the bosses.I think this location should appear when the Cartography Table is crafted.
The Table doesn't have use in solo games. This gives it a purpose for single players. Solo players that either find the Trader on their own or want to search the map can skip it completely.
The table also becomes available for crafting just when the Trader is most important. By the time you have bone fragments, bronze, and fine wood you are well into exploring the Black Forest and getting ready to beat The Elder. Crafting the Table now sets you up well for getting Iron and the next phase of the game.
Overall I think this change would be good for the game. It would make finding the trader less dependent on luck and less frustrating for those white seeds that place him in hard to find locations while not taking away from the exploration that is a very important part of the game.
Not being able to craft them sucks. Especially when everyone I talk to about it…
