Hey folks, this is Aiming4Gaming, and today I'll show you how I tested ChatGPT in Valheim!
If you prefer watching video instead of reading – here it is!
For those who like reading text – it's right below!
First of all, let's understand what ChatGPT is and how to challenge it!
ChatGPT is a powerful neural network capable of writing gaming scenarios in several seconds.
That's insane! Really reminds me of Hemingway! He typed the whole text in 10 seconds
But this is booooring.
Instead, I will let ChatGPT choose my fate right in the game itself!
Food, supplies, weapons, boss tactics, even building decisions – all will be up to ChatGPT, my task is to ask. Then I shorten his answers into several phrases to simplify reading and used my own AI (I call him "Artificial Intelligence Mate", or simply AIM) to give answers verbally!
All my actions are up to ChatGPT!
Surprisingly, because of its answers, it all turned into guide of some sort… And in my run I used my own AI to 🙄 So, let's begin!
The first things AIM suggested me to gather were wood, stone, food, leather scraps, resin.
But I found Raspberry first – and he explained me how to eat it!
Then I asked how much wood I should get to build a base. He said that I need 100-200. Hm, okay…
Of course, it was Greyling. It always was… ChatGPT is peaceful AI, so he suggested to run away!
Okay, coward rat tactics is good!
But Once I said that fight is inevitable – suggested me to craft a club and deal with him.
And, once I found another Greyling, he suggested to repeat his previous suggestion! 😇
His answers are pretty consistent, I like it!
I tested his logic by saying that I have several trees above me, and asking whether I should cut the last one.
He said that it's a bad idea! xD
Spoiler: it was indeed bad idea
Then I visited the Black Forest at night – he said that it's better to go home instead, nice!
You can't sleep with these buddies around indeed
I asked AIM about tactics other than using a bow, and specified that I'm hunting deer. He had several ideas:
That's… Impressive!
Rolling log trap damage in 3… 2… 1…
I asked AIM about base that might interest my subscribers:
First he proposed a longhouse. I declined.
Then he proposed a castle. I declined.
Finally, he proposed a tree house because it is high and tricky to build. Well, sounds like a plan!
This was even higher than AIM expected. We are both satisfied!
And even once an occasional Greyling visited my base, he asked me to avoid fighting first… What a pieceful AI!
Good steps, thank you, ChatGPT!
For some reason, he said that I need 10-15 food pieces of each food to fight Eikthyr. Fine, I should obey…
Obviously, I needed a boat. Well, AIM said the same 🙂 But he said Raft, only then Karve…
Nice decision, AIM! Too bad you proposed Raft first :/
No surprises here. He said that they are weak to fire and that I should avoid melee combat if I can.
I hope I got him right when he suggested fire?
With the help of ChatGPT I collected resources and food, picked base design, avoided some mistakes, killed Eikthyr and The Elder, and had a lot of fun! If you want to see the full review – you can watch the video!
I think ChatGPT has passed my challenge! But I think I should check him on other games. If you want to stay tuned and don't miss the next episodes – they can be found on my Youtube channel!
Thank you for reading to this point, and see you later!
Not being able to craft them sucks. Especially when everyone I talk to about it…
