Hi,
I think the current Creature Level system is decent. But it could be better. With only two levels, the differences are too large and the 2-star mobs are too rare imo. Combat as it stands now is very noticeably affected when a level 2 creature compared to when a level 1 creature joins the fight.
I think the idea that a high level mob should inspire fear is correct. But it feels very binary right now. Where you can probably block a level 1 fuling, blocking a level 2 is a LOT harder. And blocking a high level mob should be hard, but I think there is room for one more monster level so you can have some diversity when fighting them. Nerfing level 1-2 and adding a 3rd could fix this.
From the wiki:
Creature Level | Bonus Health | Bonus Damage |
---|---|---|
1 | 100% | 50% |
2 | 200% | 100% |
My proposed changes
Creature level | Bonus Health | Bonus Damage | Bonus Movement Speed |
---|---|---|---|
1 (more common) | 75% | 40% | 2.5% |
2 (slightly more common) | 150% | 80% | 5% |
3 (rarer) | 225% | 120% | 7.5% |
Currently every monster can be fought with the same strategy regardless of level – adding a movement speed buff should change this up as well.
