Idea for endgame

Right now there really is no point besides sandboxing after endgame, so how do you keep players that want to do things besides building? The team is doing a great job adding content but players are fickle and need to do something constantly. Having people start the game once a year to see the new content is not sustainable for the community. What could be a solution to keep people that are not into building engaged while waiting for new content?

Option for portals to other servers.

Around the edge of the map there would be entities that would take you to other servers. When starting the server you could give it a list of ip's or friends names and it would assign them to an entity that ports the player and items to the other server or it would just be random. When someone starts a new server up it adds it to the matrix and so people could visit/raid other servers, with an option when creating to manually connect multiple servers. Options for allowing visitors to raid, change/add things to players maps would be up to the server admin. When connecting another servers it could be limited to peaceful, or pvp, pve connections.

It would be really neat to go and discover other people's creations. Maybe a couple of friends want to setup portals to go between maps. Who knows. With 60k servers and 6k players this would probably be about 1-4 people per server that would go raiding. But if there was an overall world map it would be cool to see other players floating by to get to another server, finding random player made camps. This would be something that would take time to get to another server so pressure would be high. If you died and lost your stuff then it would take forever to get back.

Really high impassable mountains and fjords that are portals to other servers. Maybe some edge of the world events like whirlpools in the water that suck in and destroy passerby's, or where the world ends, a leviathan that would crush a ship. Of course then you would need more defensive deployable items, and npc's that could defend and make it difficult for a person to wreck everything in pvp. But for now a pve option would be nice just for discovery.
