Hello fellow Vikings! I was recently purchased Valheim as a Christmas gift and have sunk a good 30 hours into it! I have fallen in love with just building and am working on a nice harbour, however, as interesting as the rotting wood looks, I would like to keep it nice. Now I know that, when in contact with water wood rots to 50% and stays like that but, I have all this Resin lying around, so I thought I'd share my idea!
Resin Tar.
The basic premise is that you can lather it on wood and stop it from taking water damage. That's all, I was thinking you can make it out of Resin (I have 2 boxes of the stuff) and maybe mushrooms or berries or, something, and apply it using the Hammer or another existing tool.
If something like this exists already in the game, uh, really sorry, I'll delete this post, but I just wanted to hear some thoughts on it, as I think it might help open up some waterfront builds to look a little nicer! Of course, none of us control the devs and they can choose what is and isn't in the game, but getting ideas circulating is always healthy!
