I don't think I'm alone when it comes to the mining and collecting of stones for the construction of fortresses, castles, walls, and battlements; and how that can get a little tedious. While you do have some options for quick stone collection like taking down the plains stone pillars or digging the ground out from under existing towers, I think something people would appreciate is allowing the Iron Sledge to deal damage to rocks (it doesn't have to damage mineral deposits).
Having an AoE option for mining rocks would probably make mining for stone way more enjoyable, but if it only affected stone then the pickaxe retains its purpose in mining out ore. I think this would make collecting stone about as enjoyable as harvesting wood after you've planted a whole bunch of them together on a slope so that when you chop them down you can start a chain reaction, essentially AoE harvesting in that sense.
I suppose this mining effect could be like an accessory item to be bought from the trader, or a temporary forsaken power as well. Either way I think being able to smash down a hammer on giant rock formations and be able to collect all of it would take the tedium out of using the pickaxe to do it.
Not being able to craft them sucks. Especially when everyone I talk to about it…
