With Valheim releasing the first dev blog on Ashlands already, as well as a few details about the next minor update, plus the amount of new materials we already have in Mistlands, inventory space and the weight restriction there of is becoming a more significant issue.
Now, Valheim is a survival game. What you choose carry with you is as important part of the game as any. Managing that space and having to choose what you take should still be required. The ideas I'm about to propose should only make things slightly easier.
My first thought was, we need more slots. Particularly if you like to pick up and use everything. The weight is something else I'll come to in a moment. A character window with armor slots would help. Four or five extra slots would be huge, more so if you carry different armor types.
A quiver for arrows would also be handy. Maybe something we can can craft that we can load arrows into that only takes up one slot instead of two or more if you dont like to be short on arrows.
My last idea is integrating a carry weight increase into the Eikthyr buff. A temporary boost of say, 500 or 1000 weight, as well as the normal stamina improvement, to allow you to do things like move large quantities of marble and stone around for larger builds, take ore and scrap and other material from your boat to your workshop in one go instead of several.
While proof reading this I also thought of saddle bags for the Lox saddle. They are strong animals. Why cant we lead them round to carry large quantities of wood and stone for us.
So maybe one or all or combinations of these ideas or maybe you have better ones. Let's find a good solution for the devs to consider.
Please don't refer to mods as solutions or part there of unless it's taking a good idea from a mod that would work. Any mention of cheating as a solution will be downvoted and ignored. The goal is to find something for everyone that the devs will consider.
And finally, of course if inventory and weight aren't issues for you then this post isn't for you.
Not being able to craft them sucks. Especially when everyone I talk to about it…
