I get that some really enjoy the random events that trigger throughout the game. Iron Gate has made an excellent game with some awesome mechanics, including the random events, but I feel like it’s an aspect of the game that can ruin the experience for some people.
This is glaringly obvious when you consider the amount of effort most players go through just to stop mob spawns and / or events. Toggling events off would be much more efficient than building 10 ft. high dirt walls or moats around your entire stake of land, or carpeting your base with work benches every 30 feet. In my opinion it detracts from the base building and limits what you’re able to accomplish with your base.
It’s also a huge pain if you have a friend who is just starting out. If they start on your world after you’ve beaten the Elder they are just going to get stomped at every turn. The only alternative would be to start over with them or take your OP character to their world and remove most of the challenge they would face without you.
If any devs from Iron Gate cruise through this subreddit and see this post, please, just give us the option to toggle events.
