I think most of us can agree that the inventory system in this game is a pain to manage. It seems like every minute I have to throw something out even if I leave all but the bare essential tools and weapons back at base.
Item bundles are a possible solution I haven't seen posted on here yet. The basic idea behind them is that they act as small bags for specific types of items. Each bundle is an item in the inventory that you can open and take things out of. There would be several different types of bundles, each of which is associated with a certain type of item. For example, if you had a bundle for hunting loot, any animal skins, trophies, or meat you picked up would automatically be put inside the bundle. This is assuming the bundle isn't already full. Any items inside a bundle still count against your carry weight.
I am aware that the inventory space could just be increased, but this would allow for the solution to be tied to the progression system. I think it would be a little weird to start the game and see an inventory so large you won't have to worry about space for a long time.
So what do you guys think of this idea? Would it help to fix the problem? Do you have a better idea? Do you disagree with my initial statement that there's even a problem at all?
