Subj. Due to clownshoes damage/penetration falloff, sniping (as in, shooting >150m) with MOST rounds is kinda pointless – you will need 2-4 thorax shots to kill, and low flesh damage rounds don't even headshot at long ranges, especially though helmets. Yeah you can still kill sniper scavs and such by hitting them repeatedly, but any sort of mobile target will take cover long before you can nibble it to death.
But you know what retains enough damage at long range? Shotgun slugs! FTX is decent, Superformance is better. Based on a moderate amount of testing, FTX retains enough damage (from its 183 base) to oneshot unarmored thorax out to 200+ m. And even when it doesn't, it frequently causes bleedouts. Scope zeroing doesn't work for fast slugs (it's zeroed for buckshot I think), but they fly pretty straight out to 200m with 50m zero, beyond that you can aim a few inches high. 153 with long barrel shooting FTX can do 4MOA (3.2 with Superformance I think), which is enough for hits out to 300m.
