Hello my fellow Tarkovians!
I'm aware that there're plenty of guides, tours, advices, posts, videos and more content related to new players for this game but I feel that I need to share some wisdom with you guys. So here it is!
- First of all choose your maps wisely, BSG says that Factory is an "easy" map but for you, my low lvl friend that map is a meat grinder. I do not recomend you going into Factory. Play maps like woods, shoreline or customs, learn them and then move to reserve, interchange with your scav and do some loot runs. Factory rn is a pvp focused map full of extract campers and poor loot pools.
- Always bring meds, put them on you secure container and use them if you need them. Worst thing is when you just pull off some plays and die because you're bleeding and you have no bandages. Some meds heal limbs and also cure hemo 🙂
- Try to learn what is worth and what is not. There are some tables on this sub that can help you with it! Here's one!
- When you have enough money (1.4 mil roubles aprox) buy the Scav Lucky Junkbox I'll help your inventoty management a lot, specially if you have the Standard Edition.
- This is a common advice but I need to say it. Don't rush the corpses to get the loot. If you kill someone you molst likely did some noise so wait and listen.
- Common advice number 2. If you hear footsteps and you're looting. STOP LOOTING. If someone finds you looting you're dead and you loose that loot anyway.
- Don't get frustated by the Quests. There are quests that need you to grab a quest item (which will go to another tab on your inventory) and extract. I recommend you to do this quests with just a hatchet or a cheap pistol and some meds on you pouch, night time and run.
- Check your hidratation and energy when you go into a Raid. Needlessly to say chech your HP too.
- Blacked legs makes you go super slow. Use some painkillers, vaseline, ibuprofen etc to let your PMC move to normal Speed again.
- Learn where the Scav Bosses are and avoid them, they're hard to deal sometimes and they grenade throwing experience is immeasurable.
- Did you find a key? Pouch it! Eventually you'll learn that are keys that worth a lot. Even if a key is cheap on the flea therapist may pay a lot for it.
- If you play with friends I recommend you play in small groups because its easier to manage. Also on the start of the raid learn how your teammates look like. Ragman sells armbands to help groups know who is each other and they're almost free.
- Insure shit. Low tier guns like cheap AK's, shotguns, and smgs dont get picked up that much so they'll return!
- Don't waste inventory space in tier 1,2 (or even 3) armor, it's worthless.
- Speaking on Armor (BTW something is better than nothing) try to use always tier 3 or higer as It will stop Scavs onetapping you in the chest.
- If you find a tier 5 armor with poor durability and you have a tier 4 armor stick with the tier 4. You may survive enough to kill the other guy.
- Everything makes noise in this game, opening inventory, spinning your character, ADSing, switching fire modes… Keep that in mind.
- Use the linked search on guns and search for it's mags, same for mags to search for the compatible ammo.
- There is ammo that it's worthless, know your ammo and know where to shoot with it. Here's an ammo chart to help you with it 😉 AmmoChart
- Don't underestiamAte Scavs, they're scary sometimes…
- EFT gets Wiped every time a big update comes, it means that everyone starts on lvl 1 again, no money, no skills, no lvl, no trader rep, no nothing so don't hesitate to try that fancy gun in your stash that you've been hoarding for days.
- Use the Offline mode to learn the maps, you can put Scavs on Offline Raids and learn where they spawn. But don't trust the loot on those offline raids because IMO there's better loot on them than in normal Raids.
Note that English is not my mother tongue 😀
Feel free to share you wisdom guys and I'll update this if it gets some love <3
Enjoy this awesome game and may Tarkov gods lay a hand on you!
