Optimizing your RAM timings can give you HUGE performance gains

Hey,
recently I started tinkering with my memory overclock, and after failing to overclock it over 3466 MHz i noticed that my motherboard, even on XMP profile assigned really bad values to tRRDs, tRRDL and tFAW. They were by default set to 7, 10 and 36 respectively. I instantly dropped them down to 4, 4 and 16, and got really big performance gains. I saw on reddit that many motherboards have got bad timings out of the box – so if you really want to get 10 – 20 % FPS increase, depending on your current ram, try optimizing your timings.

edit: someone asked in comments whether my timings will work on their RAM and that comment disappeared for me, so I'm replying here – first check the settings you currently have. You can definitely try setting TRRDs and TRRDl to 5 and TFAW to 20 – if it works then you can try 4/4/16. If you dont know anything about that topic though I recommend watching some tutorials on youtube first.
