It will create very unrealistic expectations. Sometimes I feel like people think / expect to get better “passively” by just playing the game. And I often read responses like “it will get better” / “just play more”. Imo this is a dangerous illusion because it will lead to wasting time and experiencing much more frustration.
How do you get better at tarkov? Study! Read! Learn! And a lot of that happens OUTSIDE of the game. As shitty as it sounds, if you really want to improve you have to invest extra time into watching a ton of videos about quests, guns, armor, sound, maps, looting runs etc. You have to study the maps well and read the wiki so you know what to do and where to go BEFORE you enter into a raid for example. Of course you have to implement all of this by actually playing the game but PLEASE don’t expect to “just get better over time” intuitively because NOTHING in tarkov is intuitive, the game teaches you nothing on its own so you will have to put in the work yourself.
There are many great guides out there for complete beginners to more experienced players. Even after hundreds of hours you will still learn more so you need the respective attitude to learn and soak up information if you want to improve.
Tldr: EFT is a knowledge based game first, skill based second. While skill will indeed come with time and practice (“just playing”), how effective and quickly you can improve however is most of all determined by your game knowledge and that is something you have to actively acquire, mostly from outside sources.
