I really enjoy playing Valheim, and have some ideas for things I'd like to see in the future of it. I wonder whether there is an official forum where I could post these ideas more "directly" to the developers?
Anyway, on to the ideas:
1) Every Base Weapon (Sword, Knife, Club, Axe, Sledgehammer, Battleaxe, Polearm, Spear, maybe also Pickaxe) of every tier (stone/wood, bronze, iron, silver and black metal, and any future metals);
2) More use out of skills, kind of like TES IV Oblivion's version of Perks, where certain skill levels unlock new abilities or bonuses. Maybe Running could increase Base Movement Speed and/or Stamina Regen, and maybe carry capacity, either movement or weapon skills could increase carry weight, Block could increase Base Health and Stagger Limit Multiplier (so it would need more damage to stagger you), etc. Riding could allow you to actually make the Lox attack, instead of needing to just stop and let it defend itself, and eventually even use weapons without needing to get off the Lox.
3) Weapons eventually getting terrain damage types according to tier. For example, the tier following the Black Metal (or Black Metal itself) could start adding terrain damage. Chop for Swords, Knives, Spears and Polearms, Pickaxe damage for Clubs and Axes.
4) Fists Progression: there could be a type of progression for the Fists through Tiers. First off, the Fists skill could progress the damage a bit more than other weapon skills for each level. Second, upon reaching 100 in Fists, one could unlock more advanced skills in the same line, which would compound on its damage. Could be, for example, Fists -> Wooden Fist -> Stone Fist -> Bronze Fist -> Iron Fist -> Silver Fist -> Black Metal Fist, corresponding to the tier they'd be keeping up with by having the skills. Would be especially cool if you were eventually capable of breaking basic trees, fine trees, rocks, ores and so on with your bare hands, but needing some serious time investment to reach that far.
5) Spellcasting. I'm not entirely sure how it could be done, maybe combinations of main hand + off hand having specific main and secondary attacks? But either way, would be cool to have that ability.
6) Armor Skills with Different Armor Categories (Light, Heavy, maybe Medium, and Clothing);
7) Silken Thread, Silk Clothes, Silk Gambesons perhaps (with resistance to slashing and blunt damage, for example), Silk Furniture options with even more comfort, etc.
8) More NPCs, maybe with the clothing helping or hindering interactions with them;
9) More tameable options, like Horses, Cattle, Chickens and/or Turkeys;
10) New tiers of Pickaxes that allowed one to clear rubble from earlier dungeons, granting access to stronger enemies and resources with previous themes at later times, giving reason to go back to old biomes besides stocking up on resources, perhaps even with some Delves entirely hidden underground and needing to be dug up (Meadows and Plains especially); Maybe also new Axes able to cut down the huge Swamp trees that can't really be hurt at the moment;
11) New Vehicle options: larger ships, maybe ships with the option of repairing them at sea at a cost of wood or fine wood, new carts, chariots, wagons and carriages, such as Lox Pulled Wagons, Ox Pulled Carriages, Horse Pulled Chariots (for combat) and Wagons (Transport);
12) More advanced portal options that allowed one to: teleport ores and metals, connect more than two portals (like having a Portal Nexus build structure that can connect to multiple portals, and all of them bring back to it, while the nexus itself has a menu allowing you to choose from), and maybe even somewhat random teleportation (maybe by direction, or by biome, or to randomly selected pregenerated portals).
13) Higher Blunt Damage weapons than the Iron Mace (seriously, both Porcupine and Frostner have lower Blunt Damage than the Iron Mace, how are you supposed to keep up on enemies weak against blunt?);
14) More variation within each weapon type: Spears could have Pikes (2H) and Javelins (main attack already throwing, without losing the weapon), Swords could have Rapiers (Piercing) and Greatswords (2H), Axes could have Battleaxes (2H, some already in game) and the base, woodchopping axe, Knives could have Hunting Knives (purely Slashing), Daggers (purely Piercing), Parrying Daggers (Offhand, high parry bonus, compounds on main weapon damage, doesn't decrease speed) and Throwing Knives (similar to Javelin, but Knife), Polearms could have Halberds (Slashing) and Polehammers (Blunt), and Clubs could have Maces (pure Blunt), Morningstars (Blunt + Piercing), Sledgehammers (as already in game) and Warhammers (1H, different animations from maces, maybe higher damage with a downside). Of course, each of these besides the options besides the ones in game, except axes which I only described the options in game.
Not being able to craft them sucks. Especially when everyone I talk to about it…
