Alright boys, are you ready for the truth behind strength training in this game? Probably about to out a secret for others but…
TLDR: battery in ass, run down two stamina bars, Kill yourself, and air filters are god
First things first,
Making yourself overweight for cheap:
With epsilon or kappa you can shove a tank battery in your ass, and up until the high 30’s this will keep you overweight with nothing on. If you don’t have this, 7mm buckshot is cheapest for weight/rouble. If you guys are worried that a tank battery is just too much of an investment, they go for around 199k roubles on the flea at this point in the wipe and conveniently sell to therapist for about the same. So are you really spending roubles?
Abusing diminishing returns:
The way it’s set up, you actually gain 50-80% of the strength you can reasonably gain in one stamina bar. Do it a second time and diminishing returns makes it pointless to keep going.
Killing your survival rate:
Who gives a fuck what this number is, if you are good people will know. Now that you have reached Diminishing returns kill yourself and ready back into a raid ASAP.
Air filter may work better than you think:
I know this thing is stupidly over priced-but what if I told you it does more than you think? What if I told you it effectively doubles the amount of strength points you can gain in one raid? When I started at ~15 strength, I wasn’t using the filters and would get about 5 point of strength per raid.
When I started using the filter, I noticed I was starting to gain 10 points of strength after two stamina bars. The amount of points you can earn before diminishing returns sets in deep increases as you level up as well.
Time investment:
Even with just focusing on the grind, this can still take ~60 hours to get from 1-51. But this doing it as fast as possible and with an air filter the entire time. On average I could complete a run and starting a new queue for a match in 6-7 minutes; however this was before the patch which fixed late spawns.
Strength is easily the most grind-able skill in tarkov. I too thought it leveled slowly until I figured out all of this because I too wanted to be fast af. The best tip I can give you guys to break how boring it is to grind this out, is to run customs at night for this. When you spawn, sprint non-stop to dorms(if you die as you get there who cares). If you can get to marked room, get your chance at millions of roubles. If there’s just a gun, kill the quad nod chad coming up the stairs. The best part of all of this is that the vehicle extract is there 99% of the time on nighttime custom for easy extract- just make sure you get 600xp if you want FIR on your shit. Final thought on this, if you are the first one there and you don’t run into a scav on the way up- one seems to sprint at you from middle stair case 75% of the time when you open marked room.
